Global Directory of Who's Who Recognizes Dr. Douglas Duke, FAPWCA, for Excellence in Medicine and Athletics

Dothan, AL – The Global Directory of Who's Who is honored to spotlight Dr. Douglas Duke, FAPWCA, an accomplished surgeon, leader, and former professional athlete whose career exemplifies dedication and excellence.

A native of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Dr. Duke graduated from the University of Alabama in 1995, where he also shined as a standout athlete, earning All-SEC and All-American honors twice as a member of the university’s baseball team. In 2019, he was inducted into the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Hall of Fame, earning the title "Legend of the SEC" for his contributions to the sport. Dr. Duke went on to play professionally for the Montreal Expos, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Detroit Tigers, further cementing his legacy as a dual achiever in academics and athletics.

After his athletic career, Dr. Duke pursued his passion for medicine, completing his General Surgery Residency at Oklahoma State University. He is a Board-Certified General Surgeon and a proud member of the American Professional Wound Care Association (FAPWCA). Dr. Duke served as the Medical Director of the Flowers Wound Center from 2014 to 2021, where he made significant strides in wound care management and treatment.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Dr. Duke is a devoted father to his two daughters, Emma, 10, and Ella, 9. Outside of his career, he enjoys spending time outdoors, particularly golfing, boating, skiing, and relaxing by the lake.
